新しいiPhone発表イベント！！冒頭ジョブスのスピーチ！！

日本時間9月13日の午前2時からAppleのスペシャルイベントが開かれ、iPhone X、iPhone 8、Apple WATCH SERIES 3、Apple tv 4Kが発表されました。
Appleの本社が移転予定の新社屋にあるSteve Jobs Theaterで初めてのイベント。

 
イントロダクションでBeatlesの”All You Need Is Love”が流れ、新社屋の様子が映し出されていました。
イベントの冒頭、Welcome to the Steve Jobs Theater故スティーブ・ジョブズ氏のスピーチが流されました。
今回は冒頭のスピーチを意訳してみました。

“There’s lots of ways to be as a person, and some people express their deep appreciation in different ways. But one of the ways that I believe people express their appreciation to the rest of humanity is to make something wonderful and put it out there.
And you never meet the people, and you never shake their hands, you never hear their story or tell yours.
But somehow, in the act of making something with a great deal of care and love, something is transmitted there. And it’s a way of expressing to the rest of our species our deep appreciation. So, we need to be true to who we are and remember what’s really important to us. That’s what’s going to keep Apple, Apple, is if we keep us, us.”

一人の人として存在するためには様々な方法があり、人によっては深い感謝を様々な方法で表現する人もいます。
私が人々に感謝を表す方法の一つとして信じているのは、何か素晴らしいものを創りそこに残すことです。
決して人に会わず、握手をせず、人の話を聞くことも話すことなく。
しかしどうにかして、最大の気を配り愛を持って何かを創作していると、“何か”伝わるものがあるのです。
そしてそれが我々の根幹であり深い感謝を表現する方法です。
だから我々は何者であるかに忠実で、我々にとって本当に重要なことを覚えておく必要があります。
それがAppleを守り発展させるものだということを。
